It's been way too long...

...but here I am! 

Or here I was at 11:37 this morning:  home on a rainy day, swaddled newborn in hand, swaying in front of our bookshelves arranged by color.

The black and white photograph on the top row is of my mother, grandmother and me, taken after my third birthday party.  1973.  And now there's a fourth generation:  Esmé.  Sweet, sweet Esmé.
